Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Player's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
