The families of teenagers missing after a devastating inferno at a establishment in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an painful wait for official news and appealing for information about their loved ones via social media.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated video show the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the victims of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and hurt another over a hundred. A spokesperson said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to name the other six.

In the meantime, families and friends have been taking to the internet to plead for information about their friends who were present at the venue that evening.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an heartfelt request from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, informed a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in a serious state. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She added that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italian foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its nationals have not been located.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage promising athlete, originally from Italy but now residing in Dubai.

The national sporting body has said that he is deceased, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him passion and authentic values."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Additional Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"A companion told me they escaped after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators commented, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, combined with great maturity. He would frequently offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also at the bar on that night, according to sources.

Her sibling has shared an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are closely watching the case.
